IN PERSON: THE WRITING LAB

Arts by the People presents the Writing Lab: An Open Studio for Literary and Ekphrastic Arts at the Millburn Public Library. Hosted by local poet Mary Brancaccio, participants will work through the writing process from brainstorming ideas to deepening drafts, to revising and editing. The project is open to adults over 18 who are interested in writing poetry or prose (memoir, fiction, nonfiction). Interested in learning more or in registering? Email info@artsbythepeople and put The Writing Lab at Millburn in the email heading. The Writing Lab is made possible through a generous grant from the Santiago Abut Foundation, in loving memory of Santiago Abut. Through the support of this foundation, classes are free and open to the public.

Mary Brancaccio is the author of Fierce Geometry: Poems (Get Fresh Books, 2022), which was recommended by the Academy of American Poets. Her work has appeared in Terrain.org, Naugatuck River Review, Minerva Rising, Edison Literary Review, and Rattle. She’s been a featured poet on Major Jackson’s podcast, The Slowdown and on the Poetry Superhighway. Her website is ghostgirlpoet.com.

To register: email info@artsbythepeople.org and put The Writing Lab at Millburn in the email heading.
