“Expectation & Innovation: Italian Women Artists 1500-1800”

Join Friends of the Millburn Library ofor a virtual Museum Night. Art historian and long-time lecturer at the Museum of Modern Art Larissa Bailiff will offer a visually vibrant discussion of a group of important Italian women artists from the early modern period. Ms. Bailiff’s talk coincides with the groundbreaking exhibition, “By Her Hand: Artemisia Gentileschi and Women Artists in Italy, 1500-1800,“ now on view at the Wadsworth Atheneum. This stunning show offers a rare opportunity to experience masterpieces by Gentileschi, Sofonisba Anguissola, Rosalba Carriera and others, brought together for the first time on American soil, within the intimate setting of the Wadsworth’s galleries.
