IN-PERSON: WILDERNESS SKILLS FOR KIDS!
In-person event for children 3rd through 6th grade. Join Mike Dennis of Traditional Earth Skills for a program about how to survive in the wilderness! Ideal for kids involved in scouts or interested in the great outdoors, Mike will talk about essential items to include in a survival bag and introduce some of the traditional wilderness skills of the Lenape. Mike will also present many museum quality artifacts of Ice Age animals and share real animal pelts that the students can touch. After a demonstration of fire by friction (no fires made, only a puff of smoke), students will be able to try their hand at fire by friction. The program may be held outdoors, weather permitting. Registration required to attend.
