IN-PERSON: CARTOONING LESSON WITH MIKE DAWSON
In-person event for 3rd to 6th graders. In this fun presentation and workshop with graphic novelist Mike Dawson, children will learn the fundamentals of making comics! He will teach about the importance of maintaining a consistent writing practice, and how to get new ideas for writing. Following a brief presentation, Mike will hand out workbooks that he designed, filled with activities based on the principles he talked about in the slideshow. Then he will work with all the children and draw with them as they work their way through the activities. Time permitting, Mike will make each child an original drawing that they can keep and take with them afterwards! Registration required to attend; program runs about an hour.
